David Made Simple

David -- shepherd, giant-slayer, king: a man after God's own heart who fell hard and was restored by grace (1 Samuel 16; 2 Samuel 12; Psalm 51).

David Made Simple is a Bible-first walk through David's whole arc: the anointing at Bethlehem, the lion and the bear in the fields, Goliath in the valley of Elah, the wilderness years in the caves, the crown, the fall with Bathsheba, Nathan's rebuke ("Thou art the man"), the broken-hearted prayer of Psalm 51, the long road of restoration, the king's last charge, and finally David's greater Son -- Jesus Christ, the Son of David, whose throne is established forever.

Explicitly Trinitarian: the Father who chose David, Jesus Christ -- Son of God and Son of Man, Lord and Savior, David's greater Son -- and the Holy Spirit who anointed David, convicted him, and alone works repentance, restoration, and freedom. Every prayer is to the Father, through Jesus Christ, by the Holy Spirit.
