Proof read the novels before selling them!
I anticipated a lot of pleasure when I downloaded the complete works of Henry James... and it was quite painful to start reading one of the novels (The Princess Casamassima).
There has been obviously no proof reading of the novel, at least by a human.
Punctuation errors are found every other page, which is quite tiresome.
Misspellings are numerous, all over the novel. To give some examples:
"They arc full of gin"
"I told you the other clay"
"She can never he serious enough"
"Eustace" instead of Eustache
"Poupiu" several times instead of Poupin
"It all depends 011 our being very serious about" (?)
Several pages of the end of chapter 18 are repeated.
French words and sentences (which are not rare in Henry James'novels) are massacred with the lack of any accent and so many misspellings that a Frenchman like me does not even understand what is written.
I am reluctant to start reading another novel as all these errors spoil the pleasure of reading James' novel.
I will download another version of his complete works: too bad for that one that looked promising.
