Description de l’éditeur

Mankind has just entered the third millennium and despite all philosophies, religions and social norms out there, the world seems to be in a state of acute moral value crisis. The crux of the world moral value crisis resides certainly in the fact that there are still a lot of modern world's societal conflicts that expose all the difficulties about how to look at them through the prism of the past. The homosexuality and its gay marriage corollary; the rights to life vs. the acceptance of abortion, the medically assisted procreation and the surrogacy vs. the natural gestation; the citizenship vs. the nationhood; the social distribution of wealth vs. the widened gap between the haves and the have-nots; the racial identities vs. the racial discrimination; the religious identities vs. the religious discrimination; the basic human rights, the women right, the animal right; and finally the unsuccessful quests for an adequate economic system that can be efficient and provide the welfare for all people at the same time.

Why could Mankind make so many fundamental judgement mistakes since the beginning of the human civilization to this day? How many time Mankind has reversed from right to wrong? Many human acts or behaviors had been considered as normal or morally acceptable for more than hundreds or thousands of years cease to exist as such in the modern world.

A renewed soul searching at the beginning of the modern world can reveal the hidden fundamental moral value principle that has pervaded the human world but no spiritual leaders or intellectuals of the past and present had seen it: In other words, out of many moral codes, there is just only one fundamental as the old Latin saying goes: E pluribus unum. This transcendental message is the Respect of Others' Efforts of Pursuit of Happiness when they prove to be Peaceful, Honest and Enduring.

To better remember it, this transcendental concept can be shortened as "EPH-PHER" or "EPHPHER" acronym (Enduring-Peaceful-Honest Pursuit-of-Happiness Effort to Respect).

New concept of EPHPHER

Pursuit of Happiness in EPHPHER:

The Pursuit of Happiness remains the ultimate goal of every human being since the day of birth to the day of death. It transpires via the human efforts through life. These efforts deserve to be recognized, cherished and respected.

Enduring Effort in EPHPHER:

The "Enduring" notion in the EPHPHER concept is very important because it reveals the genuine intention of a person in his/her pursuit of happiness. The more enduring the effort is, the more one should respect.

Honest Effort in EPHPHER:

The effort must be from the "honesty" basis to be morally valuable. The effort must come from one's own labor through time.

Peaceful Effort in EPHPHER:

The effort must have a peaceful outcome to be morally valuable. If the result of the effort causes violence, destruction of innocent lives, hard-earned properties of others or shared living space of all, harms to the well-being of others then this effort cannot be considered in the EPHPHER principle.

Equality of Effort in EPHPHER:

The human history has shown time and time again that when many efforts of the same kind received different treatments then sooner or later a revolt or a revolution would break out. The equality of effort is also one of the core aspect of the EPHPHER principle because it is the guaranty of the progress of the society and the human well-being.
