Description de l’éditeur
Elijah walked out of nowhere in 1 Kings 17 — no genealogy, no backstory — and stood before wicked King Ahab to announce a drought. He was fed by ravens at the brook Cherith, sustained by a widow's never-empty barrel in Zarephath, and raised her dead son to life. On Mount Carmel he stood alone against 850 prophets of Baal, prayed one short prayer, and the fire of the Lord fell. Then, one threat from Jezebel later, he sat under a juniper tree asking God to take his life — and God met him with bread, rest, and a still small voice. He finished by passing his mantle to Elisha and riding a whirlwind into heaven, one of only two men in Scripture who never tasted death.
Elijah Made Simple is a Bible-first walk through 1 Kings 17-19 and 2 Kings 2: the God who provides in the famine, who answers by fire, who restores the exhausted, who whispers to the lonely, and whose work always outlives His workers. James calls him "a man subject to like passions as we are" — his greatness was never his perfection, but his God.
Explicitly Trinitarian: God the Father who ordained every provision and every miracle; Jesus Christ — Son of God and Son of Man, Lord and Savior — the greater Elijah, who prayed, who wept, and who stretched Himself over dead humanity on the cross and rose again; and the Holy Spirit, who alone gives boldness, comfort, and power. Every prayer is to the Father, through Jesus Christ, by the Holy Spirit. Deliverance comes by the Spirit alone, never by willpower.
Read one chapter a day. Come honest. Pray fervently. Listen for the whisper.
