Evangelism Next is an exploration of the practice of evangelism for a new era of Christianity. This collection of essays, drawn from the proceedings of the 2023 Fuller Theological Seminary Missiology Lectures, brings together academics and practitioners from around the world and across multiple disciplines. Evangelism as a church practice has come under scrutiny. While the practice of evangelism has been challenged, the need for communicating the evangel has increased. 


Part I examines the dysfunctional narratives in need of de-construction in our current practices of evangelism. Hyper-individualism, consumerism, racism, patriarchy, and other systems of oppression that have characterized evangelistic practices are explored from multiple theological perspectives and disciplines. Part II demonstrates new models emerging from global and local contexts: from holistic mission and interfaith engagement to Spirit-empowered grassroots movements, communal evangelism, and the vital witness of incarcerated believers.
