Far to Seek

An Anglo-Indian family across two generations, and a son of mixed descent who belongs fully to neither country. Maud Diver was born and raised in India and wrote about that division without pretending it could be resolved. This edition is bound with sixty plates of painting from 1750 to 1927, among them works by William Simpson, Thomas Strong Seccombe and Mabel Pryde, on subjects from the Ganges and the village well to the Scots Greys at Waterloo.
