Faust, by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (commonly known as Wolfgang Goethe), which is the most famous of the Faustian plays.

The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus, by Christopher Marlowe, which is the seminal work that influenced Goethe.

The Life and Death of Doctor Faustus Made Into a Farce, by William Mountfort, one of many attempts to provide humor into this tale.

The last two works, The Faust-Legend and Goethe’s Faust, by H. B. Cotterill, and Faust, by Arthur Davison Ficke provide an analysis of the Goethe play and its historical roots.
