Five on a Secret Trail

George is absolutely furious! Poor Timmy the dog has injured his ear and is forced to wear a huge, embarrassing cardboard collar. Tired of everyone laughing at her beloved dog, George packs her tent and storms off to camp in the wild, overgrown common, soon joined by Anne, and later Julian and Dick. The children set up a beautiful camp near a creepy, abandoned ruined cottage and quickly befriend a quirky boy named Guy, who is busy excavating an ancient Roman settlement nearby.

But the peaceful camping trip is completely shattered when the Five witness strange, eerie lights flashing inside the ruined cottage in the dead of night. The crumbling walls are supposed to be empty, but the children soon discover that a gang of ruthless criminals is using the ruins as a hideout for a highly illegal smuggling operation! Plunged into a terrifying mystery, the Famous Five must navigate forgotten, pitch-black Roman tunnels and a hidden underground trail to outsmart the desperate thieves before they are caught in the dark!
