A rookie geologist is out of her depth in this enthralling adventure
Rookie geologist Sam Harris is suffering from culture shock. She has taken the only job going, in a country where she doesn't speak the language, and finds herself ill-equipped to deal with the fallout. The saving grace is her nutty local friend Gloria, who drives like Fangio and smokes like a chimney.
But Gloria is safe in the city, and Sam is stuck in the jungle before the days of mobile phones. University classrooms did not prepare her for conditions in the jungle where she is under scrutiny from the local geologist, a misogynist who resents her presence on the team. Her fledgling career is going downhill fast, as corruption, duplicity, and impossible choices abound. But a chance discovery may change everything.
Can she trust her colleagues, or will her first adventure be fatal?
