Story 1 - Darkest Before Dawn (The Masked Man Serenade)

Five years ago a dust plague decimated Alaric Aquinas' planet, Nova Gaia.

Only 90% of the population survived, and they were left standoffish and minding their own business, seeking little to no contact with each other.
All survivors awaited help to take them away from their tragedy and start anew somewhere else. Meanwhile, Alaric's constant battle for food made him find himself in tight spots more often than not, and because of this, a silent savior became part of his life.

A savior in shining Gas Mask.

Sule Sarong became Alaric constant, vigilant shadow to keep him away from harm, and slowly fell in love with him; mind you, from a distance but still pretty hard.

Help finally came, and the moment to end his silent guarding arrived with it, but not in the tranquil way one would expect when the thing you have been waiting for so long happened.

Because nothing was easy on Nova Gaia after Fate has decided to turn her back on them.

Story 2 - How I Lost It On Planet X

Fresh from Space Academy, Navy Captain and Archeologist Darien Muselet was assigned to command the seventh Cygnus Federation expedition to an out of the way world, Planet XZ345. It contained wonderfully conserved ruins of an ancient civilization the Federation seemed eager to study because after six failed efforts they insisted in send a new one.

Of course there was a curse and rumors of a custodian of the planet, but Darien was not going to be intimidated by obscure nonsense. It was a ten-standard-year mission though, that was what he wasn't happy about.

Kekoa Wana'ao has been guarding the planet of his ancestors for six hundred standard years, a fourth of the natural lifespan of his race, the Colviri. It was his duty and he was proud to be guardian and priest of the sacred temples, but it was time to find his mate and have a family of his own, also father the next Guardian.

Little did he know that his mate would not be even from his race, but from those nosy humans that keep coming to his planet to dig and try to wrench its sacred secrets from the temples he protected.
