Maxine Somers is a L.A. beat cop that finds herself working as a small town detective just outside Minneapolis, Minnesota. She finds her idyllic job anything peaceful with having to deal with drug traffickers, murders and a new boyfriend .Her investigations takes her from Minnesota all the way to southern Texas and back again, to try and solve her case.
