Hazel Thistle, a 52-year-old housewife, has lived in the same home, in the same small town, her entire life. She spent her childhood in it, and after getting pregnant in high school, she remained in it. She even raised her own family in it with no help from her charming cheat of a husband, Marshall.

Until one day, Hazy has had enough. She secretly boards a flight to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, to begin a new life, leaving everything she knows behind.

With the help of a motley collection of expat friends, a supportive son, a gorgeous Mexican man with green eyes, and some uproarious adventures, Hazy discovers a whole new side of herself she never knew existed.
