Gastro-oesophageal Reflux Disease

The diagnosis and initial treatment of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease is based on clinical symptoms. An endoscopic examination of the upper gastrointestinal tract should be carried out in patients with alarming signs and/or symptoms: dysphagia or pain on swallowing vomiting weight loss anaemia severe symptoms resistant to conventional treatment.
