Greedy Tumbo

Tumbo Mbele is the meanest man in his village. Despite being very rich, he wants to deceive Sortich out of land left to him by his grandparents. A struggle follows and it is only when the District Commissioner comes in that Sortich is able to get his land back. The other stories in this collection explore the twists that occur in life. Tom in Denis Kevin loses his child after separating from his wife, only to be joined with him in a far-away hospital. The house-help in Mama Leah steals her employer's money, only to discover she has been out-smarted. Mike in Mike Bore is drugged on his way to school and helped by total strangers. Joel in the last story is presumed to have died after an accident, only to spring back to life after several days in the hospital.
