GS1 Brasil 30 Years

It is with great pleasure that we present the book celebrating the thirtieth anniversary of GS1 Brasil, the Brazilian Automation Association. A history built with partners and employees, with the permanent goal of keeping up with a world where development and technology certainly cannot stand still.

Bar codes, our most popular standard, are surely optimizing the everyday lives of millions, enabling them to form a better relationship with time by offering logistics solutions in various scales.

We can hardly imagine what inventor control would be like in hospitals, stores, supermarkets and factories to control inventories without using the GS1 System.

The simple act of scanning a product gives us a lot of information in a fraction of a second, and automatically gives the establishment better inventory management control.

In these three years at the head of GS1 Brasil, I have witnessed important actions and partnerships, consolidating our relationship with members – which now add up to around 57 thousand companies using our standards in several areas – and more than twenty industries, such as footwear, textile, construction, heath care and food, besides the Army, the Air Force, the Ministries of Agriculture and of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade.

Another extremely important step was the October 2012 unveiling of our office in Brasília, further enhancing dialogue with government entities and the discussion about the GS’ System’s dissemination of the benefits of automation in many industries.

GS1 Brasil is proud to have been by your side for the past thirty years, playing an active role in our country’s development and making a strong contribution to improving the population’s well-being.

Have a nice read!
