Description de l’éditeur

When Hiroshima was atom-bombed on 6th August, 1945, there was no fall sky but a clear summer sky to be seen, while a sudden flash of lightning turned the whole city into hell.

A very great number of people, well over tens of thousands of innocent citizens, above all mothers, children and pupils lost their lives all at once and hundreds of thousands were exposed to radiation and died soon afterwards or are still suffering.

The disastrous scene of Hiroshima was beyond description. Hiroshima was devastated, big parts of the town were leveled to the ground. More than ten thousand people had severe burns and were looking for water sticking their heads in fire water tanks and died. The river was filled with corpses.

There are more than 3500 drawings by people who suffered from the bomb but survived and recalled the tragedy at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum.

This book contains 167 of the most impressive drawings arranged according to scenes representing the consequences of nuclear war.
