The History of Her Future is a series of short stories detailing the later life of one of the most infamous names in the annals of American crime: Lizzie Borden of Fall River, Massachusetts. Each story moves inexorably back in time from the day of her death in 1927 to the brutal killings of her father and stepmother in 1892. These tales weave a dark - and at times, darkly comic - tapestry of sisterly "love," unlikely friendships, unseen enemies, community desires, betrayals, secrets, greed and the tantalizing question:  Did Lizzie Borden really take an axe...?
