How Does this Digital Camera Work‪?‬

We all want to take a good photograph. The moment comes and there we are fiddling around with our new digital camera not knowing which button to push and what does the button do anyway?
There is a bicycle going by, which way do I turn the buttons on top of the camera to catch it ? I want to take a nice close up of a flower, what to do? I like that rock formation, but not the building behind it. How to I focus on the rock? On and on.
If I take a class, the teacher talks about his/her work and not about the photography problems I have.
It's best to learn as much as you can by practicing with simple steps dealing with one idea after another.
