An egomaniacal movie star breaks down when a bartender refuses her advances in Beer's grating debut. The mononymous Marina has matured from a teenage Oscar winner into a megastar on the cusp of turning 30 who harbors nothing but contempt for her husband, fans, and assistant, Jules. In the lead-up to her latest film premiere, Marina resumes her habit of impersonating Jules on a dating app, and meets bartender Anna while waiting for one of her matches to show up. The pair go home, have wild sex, and the next morning Anna leaves nonchalantly, showing little interest in continuing their affair—which leaves Marina insatiably obsessed. Pathologically determined to recapture the magic of their night together, Marina launches into a deranged pursuit, putting the lives of multiple people at risk as she tries to Single White Female her way into Anna's life. Meanwhile, Beer weaves in Reddit comments analyzing Marina's behavior, and occasionally checks in on her husband, Henry, who's hiding a secret of his own. Mired in Hollywood clichés and never as wild as it wants to be, this careens from one contrived set piece to another before ending with a whimper. Contrary to the title's claims, it's not much fun at all.
