The Travel Companion

Taking knowledge of old techniques of embroidery and making something else of them is common for hardanger.  It was a way of making and decorating clothing like shirts and then it morphed into tablecloths and runners.  


I use it to make things like this.  Everybody is surprised by the double sided scissor case.  


The hardanger uses satin and buttonhole stitches.  All aspects of the embroidery are covered in videos, large clear charts, explanations, or pictures. 


The fabric, threads, and embellishments are available on the internet and links are provided if needed for everything mentioned.  Nothing is difficult to find.


You will definitely want more sewing tools to show off the tool pocket that is also included in the book.
