Description de l’éditeur

The dead don't stay down in New Amsterdam. Somebody's making sure of it.

August 1947. A heat wave has the city by the throat. At ten past midnight, Jake Morrison gets the call: industrialist Thomas Kellerman is dead in his locked penthouse, sixty floors above Wall Street, drained white without a drop of blood spilled. An hour later, the corpse gets out of its chair and goes for the detective who called Jake in.

Jake came home from Omaha Beach with shrapnel near his heart and something no surgeon could explain. Magic can't touch him, and he sees what the rest of the city can't: the blood-drinkers on the night shift, the fae behind the billboards, and the treaty that keeps them all a secret. But every fight and every ward he crosses moves the iron closer to his heart.

Kellerman is the third victim. All three were keepers of that secret. All three got back up, each one closer to the street than the last. Victory Day is eight days off, and a million people will crowd downtown for the parade. Whoever is raising the dead wants every one of them watching.

To stop it, Jake will have to go deeper into the hidden side than he's ever gone, and dig up a past he left on a beach in Normandy.

Some debts don't stay buried. Neither do the dead.

Iron Summer is Book 1 of the Cold Iron series.
