Byline: Ismat Sabir Last year, the federal government approved plans to set up rental power projects (RPPs) to generate 1,500 megawatts (MW) electricity. While to produce 2,700 MW, the Economic Co-ordination Committee had directed the Water and Power Ministry to set up 14 RPPs to generate 2,200MW so that load shedding could be eliminated. After starting RPPs production the power tariff would rise by six percent.
