It's About Time

This novel is about a man who escapes his solitary existence aboard a locomotive that has taken him twelve years to fix. His desire to find other humans living within some form of civilization obsesses him as he eventually departs his place of frigid nothingness via his locomotive on a time travel trip of drugs, adventure, and spiritual searching. Dylan's first encounter with another human occurs in 1834 when he rescues the slave Dred Scott from an attack by a wild mob. Dred (Sam) becomes Dillon's faithful friend, accompanying his white Master on drug trips through Indian territories in search of freedom.
