Being High Archmage of Jarl has never been easy, but Ummelly couldn't help feeling more than a little put upon. As if dealing with King Lethwin's ban on all magic users wasn't bad enough, there was the added threat of all-out war with the demonic Olaark in the offing. The Olaark were intent on destroying the delicate Balance and raising the dark forces of the Shadowborn to the fore. And he somehow had to find time to deal with the scattered remains of one Fwilk the mage, vaporised in a lightning strike and intent on world domination if he could but find all of his atoms.

But at least he had a dragon at his disposal, well, a mage who kept turning into a dragon, which was the next best thing.
