Description de l’éditeur

Horatio Alger, Jr. (1832 – 1899) was a prolific American author of the 19-th century. His writings were characterized by the "rags-to-riches" narrative, which had a formative effect on America during the Gilded Age. Alger best known for his many juvenile novels about impoverished boys and their rise from humble backgrounds to lives of middle-class security and comfort through hard work, determination, courage, and honesty.

In the present tale storyline focuses on the adventures of a country lad, named Joe, who can't endure his present life and goes forth into the wild world. First he finds work in a summer hotel and then in a large hotel in the city. He admits that it is not easy to travel alone, and facing with difficulties on his way only making him stronger and braver. As in the most stories by Alger everything comes to the positive end, despite negative events in the life of main characters. Probably this story takes its beginning from someone's experience or maybe fiction. Any way the main idea of the story - rule your way from start to finish.
