John Lambert, Bodyguard to Joseph Smith
An Historical Novel
Description de l’éditeur
John Lambert was one of the bodyguards of Joseph Smith, Mormon Prophet. He and his family had left England in 1840 to join the Mormons in Nauvoo, Illinois. There he witnessed the historical events that resulted in the murder of Joseph Smith in 1844, and the expulsion of the "saints" from the United States in 1846. At the same time, John's widowed mother struggled with the changes in her family - her children marrying and moving away, and the threat of a permanent division between them at the exodus. Would they all follow Brigham Young to the west or would some stay behind in Illinois?
