Description de l’éditeur

In Kya/20/20/2, Kya Brisson, so very advanced at the age of eighteen, finds herself at the very apex of power and control in her position at The Institute, a futuristic high tech laboratory located in South Beach, Florida. Kya finds that she thrives on the lust and desire for absolute power and becomes totally corrupted by that lust.

As Kya moves to implement a variety of new programs to thwart what she considers to be a growing menace, she is increasingly confronted with innumerable difficulties. The plan that she and her mother, Miss Annabelle Jackson attempted to implement, that of relegating the male species of homo sapiens to a kind of domesticated animal status, has run up against a serious obstacle. In fact, Kya finds that she may be in mortal danger of losing her power base altogether. Kya discovers that one, Miss Kayla Marie Lane just might be a kind of alien presence whose intention is, she believes, to dramatically change the status quo of all the human race.

As the story unfolds, Kya makes a number of discoveries that leads her to believe that Kayla Marie and her commander group could enslave all humans, including her, or even to engage in the ultimate extermination of all humans on the planet. In order to counter her threat, Kya proceeds on a kind of strategy to thwart Kayla Marie. One such plan to counter, Kya decides, is to turn The Institute loose with a number of technological breakthroughs that will greatly enhance her offspring's capabilities. After her first child, Brenna, is born, Kya becomes even more troubled because she is unsure as to just what she has allowed as Brenna becomes much, much more than she ever imagined. Kya then has to decide; can she possibly use her very own daughter, Brenna, and a new arrival, Violet Brisson, as well as a whole bevy of newly planned off-spring in an attempt to somehow thwart the alien threat that Kayla Marie and her command center represents.

Kya/20/20/2 is filled with many dramatic situations and issues that delves into the sci-fy realm. And, the story deals with many human characteristics that may seem rather far-fetched, and for many of us would seem to be rather like peering through the prism into another world than any we could ever envision. Yet, is there a reality to Kya's world? Or, does much of the world pass her by, all that she misses, possibly like the rest of us, caught up in a state, rather opaque, resembling a kind of skewed reality.

Kya/20/20/2 is filled with suspense, voyerism and even the supernatural! There is a serious and mounting pressure that Kya Brisson has to confront; that of an increasing feeling that even though she has attained such an exalted position of absolute power, wealth and prestige, that, like many of us, suddenly there is a very real possibility of slipping over the edge and into a cataclysmic, fatal crash into the deep, dark abyss of total failure! It is the ultimate test for her, to see if she succeeds at the apex of society or will she ultimately see her world decline and fall, sealed to doom, like all the others, the same historic fate of all past empires.
