Description de l’éditeur

Laura Elizabeth Howe Richards was an American writer famous for her children's books, biographies and poetry. During her literary career Richards wrote over 90 works, including her especially noted children's poem – literary nonsense verse Eletelephony. In 1917 Richard's biography work Julia Ward Howe, 1819-1910, written with the assistance of her sister Maud Howe Elliott, won a Pulitzer Prize. In 1959 the author won the Lewis Carroll Shelf Award for her children's book Tirra Lirra.

First published in 1889, The Hildegarde's Series is a set of five novels: each novel is a new fascinating story. Hildegarde's Holiday (1891), the second book of the series, is the story of young Hildegarde Grahame and her best friend, former invalid, Rose Chirk. The girls spend their summer holiday at the house of Hildegarde's wealthy cousin in Maine.

A classic example of Laura E. Richards' lively and undeniably pleasant style, this book is a real treasure. Do you want to dive deep into the atmosphere of careless childhood or take pleasure in reading aloud to your kids? Then download the book and enjoy the reading!
