Life; Paralyzed

A young woman named Christina Symanski, a former art teacher, had a life-altering experience due to a spinal cord injury in June 2005. The memoir chronicles her struggles and challenges as she faced harsh new realities and dealt with an unimaginable amount of loss, grief, and change.

She joined the Association for Mouth and Foot Painting Artists and focused her energy on creating artwork that expressed her feelings toward paralysis and the emotional and physical struggles of living life as a quadriplegic. Over the years it became increasingly more important for her to raise awareness about spinal cord injuries and to emphasize to the average person how fragile life can be.
Christina hoped that everyone who reads her book will read it with an open mind and realize that for her, the most important aspect of life itself is quality. It is not enough to just breathe and go through the motions of life when everything seems compromised.
