MAN OF CONVICTIONS

A true story of a mans fight for his rights of ownership, for him and his tribe.

Description de l’éditeur

A New Zealand Book that gives a true account of a courageous man who is fighting for the right to retain his ancestral lands that rightfully belong to him and his tribe. In his quest Phil Taueki battles the courts, the police and the New Zealand Parliament.

As an owner of Lake Horowhenua Phil Taueki was evicted from his own property. In court the lake owners were told not to interfere with the reasonable rights of the public in their use of Lake Horowhenua.

Local government is still discharging contaminated waters into Lake Horowhenua. To quote an environmental consultant, the lake is on the "knife edge" of flipping.
