Meager Allocations for Health and Education in the Budget

Byline: Shaukat Ali Jawaid Economic Survey Report of Pakistan for the Year 2011 paints a very dismal picture of health services in the country but even then the health allocations have been reduced instead of being increased. Only forty billion rupees have been earmarked for Health and Education in the Federal Budget which shows the least priority the social services has with the present rulers. When the budget is prepared by the bureaucrats without any meaningful input from the representatives of the public, under dictations of IMF and the World Bank under the patronage of financial wizards whose main objective is to please their foreign masters that is exactly what is expected.
