When fortune meets fate

Sometime I do wonder if writing a novella is a kind of talent’s test.
Not everyone is able to give depth to its characters when the length of the story must be kept short.
I just adored this light and entertaining tale of second chance.
Mathilda or Tilde for short is a heroine as I love them, strong, determined and resilient when needed. She adapted herself to the dire circumstances life threw on her path, making the best with what she has, her wits and clever mind.
Jasper, The Earl of Willoughby did his duty and married the perfect blue-blood woman, it was not passion, it was not a bad marriage until bitterness gave a sour taste to their union.
Now eleven years after their first encounter and first kiss, their path meet again. And while they rekindle, feelings they thought buried deep in their soul reawaken.
They will need the help of a tiny bit of a dog named Peaches and two loving girls to see what they missed and decide for themselves which new road should they choose to follow.
A wonderful narrative which kept me awake late in the evening or early in the morning as I had not been able to get sleep until I turned the last page.
