Neighbor Earth: The Landing in Illinois is a short science-fiction dramatic narrative and the first self-published literary work by Evan Rentz. Recommended for ages 14+. Synopsis: Astrobiologist Sam Strauss is troubled by the public perception of an intelligent extraterrestrial species known as the "Saturn beasts". Widespread confusion surrounds the gradual rise of the aeronautics corporation MadSTAR and the mysterious Antidote, a substance engineered by astrobiologists to facilitate communication with the Saturn beasts. The eccentric professor falls into deep reminiscence of his involvement in the discovery of these organisms during his youthful days in the quaint town of Crooks, Illinois in the fall of 1975. After an inadvertent encounter on Halloween night, young Sam Strauss and his irreverent teenage friends develop conflicting ideas as to how to handle the mysterious and sudden appearance of these strange inhuman creatures.
