Nico

Nico De Lucia has spent his life knowing exactly what is expected of him. As the son of the Lycan King, he was born to lead, destined to become an Alpha, and expected to find the mate who will stand beside him. There's only one problem. The woman haunting his dreams has vanished, leaving behind a connection he can't explain and an emptiness he can't escape.

Sergeant Carrie Mansfield doesn't have time for destiny. She's been investigating a string of disappearances that appears to lead to an organized crime operation, but the closer she gets to the truth, the more dangerous the investigation becomes. When Carrie is abducted and held by a ruthless enemy determined to learn what she knows, she discovers there is far more hiding in the shadows than anything she encountered as a cop.

When Nico finally finds the woman from his dreams, she's dying.

Saving Carrie requires a choice that could cost Nico his title, his future, and everything he's been raised to become. But keeping her alive is only the beginning. Carrie awakens to a world she never knew existed, a man who calls her his mate, and a future that seems to have been decided for her before she ever had a chance to choose it herself.

As Carrie's investigation exposes a conspiracy reaching from the human world into the heart of the Lycan packs, an old enemy moves closer to destroying the De Lucia family from within. And when a terrifying premonition warns that one decision could cost Nico his father, his family, and the woman he loves, Nico must confront a truth no Alpha has ever taught him:

Sometimes protecting the person you love means trusting her to choose for herself.

Fate chose them. What comes next is their choice.
