Old Guys Celebrate Oldness As the Stones, Scorsese Just Keep Rocking (Screen Scene‪)‬

OLEAN -- I have lived in big cities, and I have lived in the countryside. Generally, especially in my advanced years, I prefer the latter. Much less asinine human behavior to put up with. But I have noticed one thing. Out "in the country"--where I now reside--one seems much closer to death. By that I don't mean one's own death. I mean the death of living things in general. Oh, I know you're thinking now of street crime, and traffic, and air pollution, and bad water, and idiot drunk drivers on freeways, and of all the random and unlucky ways you can buy the ranch in an urban setting. That's not what I'm thinking of.
