Jack Bernard is an evil man who was involved with gangsters in the 1930s and wants nothing more than complete power over other people. Experimenting with the paranormal, he summons a demon who is really an evil vampire from another plane of existence. Raun, the vampire, turns Bernard into a vampire and makes him his slave to do his bidding. Bernard captures beautiful women and Raun takes of their blood turning them into vampires. Soon, Raun takes their souls. He is a soul-gatherer who gets stronger each time he acquires a soul.
Eighty years later, Elton and Sheri Markham purchase the house where Jack Bernard and his family once lived. His specter haunts them. After the death of his wife, Sheri, Elton becomes interested in the creature. Raun warns Elton to forget everything he has learned or die. Elton ignores the warning and goes to West Virginia to visit one of Bernard's family members. Death and destruction follows him as Raun tries to intervene in his quest to find out the truth. Raun kills several people and takes their souls. Elton has a surprise visit from the ghost of his wife, Sheri who warns him that his life is in danger. Raun kills Jean Collins, a friend of Eltons' and things come to a thrilling climax as Raun, a deadly creature from another world and Elton Markham face each other in a grim battle to the death.
