The Pennington name, while remains somewhat ambiguous due to misspellings is believed to exist before 1066a.d. All data has been traced through various names, religious records and migrations.

The true identity of Alan Penningtons wife still is not known, but his three sons have been documented. Family records and events became more accurate after 1464 with Sir John Pennington.
