When Steve Jax accepted the role of police chief in the semi-rural community where he lives he believed two things. He’d never again have to deal with the horror and violence he’d walked away from as an undercover cop in the city, and no woman would ever infiltrate his heart the way his now dead wife had. After stepping away from her religious beliefs and returning home, Rhia anticipated leading a quiet, uneventful life. Then she met Steve. He aroused feelings of lust and love within her that Rhia never believed possible. However, loving him comes at a price. When students at the local high school begin to die from an insidious drug invading their peaceful town, Rhia finds herself dangerously positioned between the man she wants to make her own, and a narcissistic woman out to destroy lives for financial gain.
