Description de l’éditeur
In September 1957, two years after the death of his father, nine-year-old Dave Marshall from Newcastle on Tyne was sent to the Royal Masonic School for Boys in Bushey, Hertfordshire, a charitable institution for the sons of deceased freemasons. Using source material from the time - letters, photographs, documents, diary extracts, school reports, etc - Postcard From Tangier vividly recreates the austerity and occasional brutality of life in a mid-20th century English boarding school through the eyes of a boy, who but for the misfortune of his father's death, would never have entered such a world.
