Description de l’éditeur

Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino, known as Raphael was born on 6th of April or March, 1483, in Urbino. He is one of the most famous Italian painter and architects, belonging to the High Renaissance. His work was admired widely, because of the clarity of the form, the visual achievement of the Neoplatonic ideal of human grandeur and the composition. Raphael, Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo were the three greatest masters of that time.

This book is a collection of his pictures and a portrait, each of them followed by a critical explanation and description. There is also an introduction, which is written for teachers of art and contains suggestions for a comparative study of the pictures.

The main intention of this book is to introduce art students to Raphael through his pictures which reflect his work.
