Reaper's Luck

A tale of love spanning two cultures that takes place in 1800 Juneau, Alaska. 
Chased from their home in the Aleutian Islands by a jealous man, Brynja and her small family are on the run. The man who wants her mother has kidnapped her father. The fate of her father unknown, they leave what clues they can to their destination, Juneau, hoping he can follow. In the gold rich town, she makes a living baking bread. Her biggest fear is that her native heritage will become known. 
Known as the Reaper to his competition, Alex goes north to explore opportunities. But finding himself branded as a mutineer could see him hang. He becomes dependent on the kindness of Brynja, her mother and uncle. The physical pull he feels toward the young woman could cost him even this haven.
