Kylie and David meet and share a passionate kiss at his party when he catches her trying to escape through a window to avoid a man with a runaway mouth. Kylie gives David a false name and then takes off, but she soon finds herself face-to-face with the handsome entrepreneur when Robyn arranges a job for her in the Gamble accounts department. From the moment Kylie is employed, however, small acts of sabotage surface in the company, which leaves David torn between his growing attraction to Kylie and the suspicion that she might be the saboteur. Brandt maintains a delightful balance between control and confusion and pads her story with a cast of well-drawn ancillary characters. A few far-fetched coincidences may give readers pause but, overall, this fun, feel-good romance is the perfect pick-me-up for rainy days.
