Rose tried to struggle, but the man's grip on her hair was too strong. She felt him forcing her to her knees. He was bringing the knife to her head!
Suddenly a rifle shot rang out. The bullet caught the huge man in the shoulder. He dropped his knife, but he managed to swing Rose around with his other arm to face his antagonist.
She could see someone on the other side of the clearing. Her heart was beating fast. It was her father!
