Ruty

Egypt, 1346 BC

When Vizier Kasen is found murdered at the small temple of the Aten in Akhetaten, Commander Khaemwaset commander of the Medjay, is found standing over the body with a dagger in his hand and everyone assumes he is guilty. He is arrested for a crime he claims did not commit. Only his loyal second-in-command, Inspector Sutekh, believes he is innocent and asks Ramose to come back to Akhetaten to investigate and uncover the real killer before Khaemwaset stands trial.
With Khaemwaset's life hanging in the balance, the exiled investigator Ramose and his wife, Tiaa agree to return to uncover the truth.
But the investigation soon leads into the dangerous world of religious conflict, court intrigue and old secrets. What did Kasen mean by 'Ruty' spoken with his dying breath?

As Ramose and his allies follow the trail, they discover that Kasen's death may be connected to something far more sinister and that the fate of Pharaoh Akhenaten and Queen Nefertiti may depend upon uncovering the truth. In the world of the Aten, the old gods have been banished, yet Ruty is being whispered on the desert winds that blow through the streets of Akhetaten.
