The future of democracy is under threat as never before from populists and the proponents of Liberal Democracy have got to step up with substance to win the hearts and minds of people. To restore and renew the values of Liberal Democracy through a grand strategy that emphasises the rule of law, democracy and subsidiarity, universal human rights, social justice, economic security and environmental sustainability. Now is the time to be proud of what Liberal Democracy can be for all our futures. Dr Paul Harvey is a doctor of International Politics (University of Reading) and currently teaches with the Open University. Paul formerly taught at the Joint Services Command Staff College, Defence Academy, Shrivenham for Kings College.
