Shahnameh: The Story of Simorgh

Written over 1,000 years ago by the Persian poet Ferdowsi, the ‘Tales of Shahnameh’ is an epic poem bursting with history, culture, and authentic language from the region known today as Iran.  Due to the poetic style and complex language of this classic story, utilizing the Shahnameh in the Persian language classroom is a great challenge. By using the iBooks Author, LARC is recreating one story of the Shahnameh epic, developing language practice tools, and comprehension activities for novice, intermediate, advanced and superior level Persian language learners. Currently the book is available in Advanced and Novice language levels.
