The Soul Gaunts have been defeated and Solomon takes his place as the Head of House Towering Oaks. But there's still one job he's left unfinished.

Peace reigns over the Greenweald after the defeat of the Soul Gaunts and Jamshir's army. Solomon has been picked as the next Head of House Towering Oaks and reluctantly takes the job, but there are still several questions unanswered.

Who is the mysterious House who helped Jamshir destroy House Rustling Elm? And what of the mad ruler of the Greenweald himself? Towering Oaks has a new Head, but what about Whispering Pines? And the biggest question of all for Solomon: what has become of Celia?

Solomon undertakes another journey, this time voluntarily, to find his lost love and rescue her if needed. But while he's gone, danger comes back to the Greenweald in even greater force. New faces emerge from the shadows, intent on destroying all the Houses of the Folk, and worlds beyond that.

This time, it might be too much for even Solomon to defeat.
