Songbird

Songbird tells the story of Pascale Kedari, a brilliant and artistic teenager from the middle east, who is marooned in France by a revolution in her home country.
Befriended by several women, principally Matilda a university professor, Veronique a former prima-ballerina, Sister Claire a social activist nun, and Raymonde a celebrity, each dearly loves Pascale, recognizes the magnitude of the girl's artistic talent and wants it to be known to the world. At the same time, these women recognize Pascale as the vehicle for the vicarious achievement of their own frustrated adult ambitions. Pascale struggles to achieve her own artistic desires as those around her increasingly believe her to be the world's new songbird.
