Description de l’éditeur
Frank Foley, a hard-boiled private detective, is jolted into paranoia when a series of "accidents" nearly kills him: brake fluid drained from his Oldsmobile, a sabotaged extension ladder at home, and a gas stove left on while he slept. The clues seem to point inward, toward his own house, leaving him horrified by the possibility that his wife, Sue, or teenage son, Sam, may be trying to murder him without knowing why. When he confronts them at breakfast, they insist he's exhausted and needs a doctor, briefly undermining his certainty but not easing his fear. Still shaken, Foley heads to work, where an odd, chunky stranger appears with uncanny knowledge of the attacks. He claims Sue and Sam were responsible, then delivers an even stranger explanation: he is an inventor from the future, guided by a distant descendant and in need of protection for himself and his invention. What begins as a domestic nightmare quickly twists into a bizarre time-travel mystery. This edition has been fully restored with modern typesetting, custom cover design.
