Description de l’éditeur

Taj Mahal was constructed by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan (1628 – 1658) in the loving memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. It is located on the side of the Yamuna River. An idle example of the great Mughal architecture, it is included in the list of the Seven Wonders of the World. It has got Persian, Ottoman, Indian and Islamic features in it which make it look very beautiful.
It is said that after the construction of the Taj Mahal, Shah Jahan had the hands of the workers cut so that they would not be able to make another building of the same type in the whole world. Spread over in 32 acres, its construction was started in 1631 and finished in 1653. More than 20,000 workers took part in building this wonder piece of architecture. Along with this many elephants and carts were used to bring the materials to the building site. In the main mausoleum there are 28 precious stones engraved and there are 99 names of Allah carved in Mumtaz Mahal’s grave.
